First Sikh Martyr, builder of Sri Harmandir Sahib, and compiler of the sacred Adi Granth Sahib.

Guru Arjan Dev Ji compiled the sacred hymns of the Sikh Gurus and Bhagats into the Adi Granth in 1604 and bore unimaginable torture on the hot iron plate in Lahore with serene submission to the Divine Will (Tera Bhana Meetha Laage).
